Book Review

Two to three weeks ago we worked on a book review on a book that we have been assigned to by Our teacher. The book I got was The Secret Of Jelly Mountain Witch was a really good book but in the end I didn't finish it so that was a shame. We did this because we wanted to know a bit more about the book and give it a better description on what the book is about. I want to do another book review but we could choose what book we wanted so we could change it up a bit. Here is also my book review.

After production we had to write things about production with the thinking Hats, here is what I wrote and what I thought about production.

Toys

Toys 

For the past week we have been making toys for Inquiry. We have been looking around a toy with a mechanism and my one was a pulley. I was working with my friend called Kieren and we made a Slingshot with a Velcro target and Velcro balls so they can stick to the target. We tried to make a Slingshot like the one my brother brought home from Thailand but It was nowhere near. Here is a image of me and my toy. This is Kieren's blog

Today for Cyber Smart we continued on from last week on our maps that we made of where you and one of you family members are from either NZ or any other Country.

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS?

Some students have travelled for 8,000 kilometres just to come to school in NZ and the scenery.

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

I think that they make the choice to move here for a better learning opportunity.

Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us?

More people from different countries like people from China and Asia are coming to buy more houses in Auckland. Yes I do think that this is a trend because people from all different countries are living inn NZ.

We also watched a video that shocked me about racism from other people from my age and what they have experienced at such a young age.

What Would You Do?

This week for Cyber smart we were looking at a scenario that we have been in whether by Email, Voice communication or by message. We also did a quick survey on who were using sites but they were underage. After that people were discussing about if they should report them or tell an adult or someone you trust. Here are all my answers below.


I would defiantly report them straight away so they can stop him from doing that ever again.

I think that arguing would just make every thing worse.

Telling an adult would solve the problem for you but won't stop them.

Tri Star Gymnastics

This term for our kiwi sports we have been doing Gymnastics. Every Wednesday we go into the school hall to learn Gymnastics by Kane and Kylie we even had a guest coach teacher Teddy. Each week we get taught a new movement like Landing, an much much more. My favourite part was playing fruit salad with a big parachute. Kane would give as a fruit such as Banana, Apples, Orange and Pears We would make huge waves with the parachute and when Kane said your fruit we crawled under the parachute to the other side. It was funny hearing everybody screaming as they run into each other. What I need to work on is my stretches the most to help me in Rugby so I don't pull any muscles while I'm playing.
